Plastic Additives
Antiblocking Agent for Transparent Plastic Films Spherical-form Inorganic Filler
SILTON™JC
SILTON JC is spherical fine white powder with controlled particle size. It is amorphous aluminosilicate, produced by chemical reaction based on synthetic zeolite.
・Controlled particle size
・Excellent dispersibility
・Low hygroscopicity
・Refractive index similar to resin
With the above properties, SILTON JC is mainly used as an antiblocking agent in plastic film (PP, PE etc.). It can also be used as a functional filler for resins, a matting agent for paints, or a polishing agent.
Our Technologies
We have extensive experience in the synthesis of zeolite, starting from detergent builder. In our research and development of zeolite, we have created the unique filler, SILTON JC, which suppresses the characteristics of zeolite while taking advantage of its spherical shape. SILTON JC has a strong market presence in Japan in the antiblocking agent field and has been satisfying our customers for many years.

SILTON JC-30 -
SILTON JC has spherical independent particle shape. Due to its sharp particle size distribution, it has less agglomeration of particles and high dispersibility in resin. Therefore, it is unlikely to have defects during the film manufacturing process, and the product has higher processability. Furthermore, SILTON JC has quite a close refractive index to polyolefin resins, which maintains the transparency of films at a higher level than other antiblocking agents (synthetic silica, diatomite etc.). Additionally, its low moisture and hygroscopicity avoid defects, such as fish-eyes etc.

Typical Usage
An antiblocking (AB) agent for plastic film is an additive used to prevent films from adhesion. The surface of AB agent-added film forms microscopic protrusions that reduce the contact areas on both films and prevent sticking together. When packaging in plastic bags using film rolls, the addition of an AB agent will enhance peelability and reduce friction. And while using the plastic bag, AB agent can make better opening capability.
The AB agent must have an adequate particle size for the film thickness to demonstrate the desired antiblock properties. When the particle size is too small, the AB agent in a thick film is unable to form sufficient protrusions. Conversely, an AB agent with too large particles will negatively impact the tactile sensation. With a wide range of particle diameter grades, SILTON JC is an ideal product for plastic film.
