Resin additives

Antiblocking agent for transparent films Fixed-form inorganic filler particles

SILTON™AMT/JC

SILTON AMT/JC is a cube-shaped / spherical fine white powder with controlled particle size, and is amorphous aluminosilicate made by chemical modification of synthetic zeolite.
 ・Controlled particle size
 ・Excellent dispersibility
 ・Low hygroscopicity
 ・Refractive index close to resin
With the above properties, it is mainly used as an antiblocking agent in polyolefin film. It can also be used as a functional filler for resins, a matting agent for paints, a base for inks, or a polishing agent.

Innovative Technology That Can Support the Customers’ Future

We have years of experience in synthesizing zeolite, starting from synthesizing a detergency builder additive. By synthesizing various kinds of zeolites, we have developed usage that takes advantage of the material’s shape by intentionally converting it into an amorphous state to suppress its unique activity. AMT/JC represents our fixed-form fillers, and continues to have a high domestic share in AB agent field that has satisfied customers for many years.

Products (major grades)

SILTON AMT/JC has cube-shaped / spherical independent particles. Due to its sharp particle distribution, it has less aggregation of particles and fine dispersibility in a resin. Therefore, it is unlikely to have defects during the molding process, and the molded products (films) are easy to handle. Also, with low moisture and low-hygroscopic properties, it can suppress defects, such as foaming, upon adding to resin.

Typical Usage

Additive for resin: Antiblocking agent for film

An antiblocking (AB) agent for plastic film is an additive used to prevent films from sticking together. The surface of AB agent-added film forms microscopic bumps that reduce the contact areas on both films and prevent adherence. Upon wrapping a product with a film or a plastic bag, the rolled film has more detachability and the plastic bag has better opening capability.
The AB agent needs to have an adequate particle diameter for the thickness of a film to show sufficient capability. Adding an AB agent with too small a particle size in a thick film cannot form sufficient bumps, while adding too large particles produces too many large that damage tactile sensation. With the wide range of particle diameter grades, SILTON AMT/JC can be the best product for your film.

Physical Properties

Fixed-form Amorphous Silicate Product Series

SILTON AMT/JC are plastic additives made of inorganic compounds. Mainly, they are extensively applied as antiblocking agents for polyolefin (e.g., polyethylene, polypropylene) internationally. SILTON AMT/JC have quite a close refractive index to these plastics, so they hardly damage the transparency of films. In the field of food packaging materials, high safety is also required for plastic additives. SILTON AMT/JC with high safety can be applicable to such a field.
